What do we study?
The human past from its beginnings up to the present day. This knowledge allows us to critically understand the various processes of development of human societies, as well as the political, economic and cultural manifestations.
Lines of research and work:
Archaeology, prehistory and the ancient world, including the study and excavation of archaeological sites; the medieval society, modern society, the 19th and 20th centuries, and today.

What offers the URV to History students?
Services such as the laboratory of archaeology, the cinema class, teaching computer science classrooms, library service and other general services such as employment, housing, language service and sports among others.
What professional opportunities do you have?
The professional opportunities are diverse due to the specialised training in social sciences. Our students will be able to work on various activities such as teaching, management and culturaldiffusion, archaeological technician, researcher, archives or libraries, media, tasks for guiding in historical-artistic or cultural routes, international management, technician in public or private administrations, human resources, assistance in foundations and publishers, among others.
Direct attention to students:
It gives a personalized service to the students through the tutoring system. In addition, students can have a direct deal with teachers due to the small number of students.
