ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Serra Hunter Associate Professor in the Department of History and Art History at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) since 2014, and Research Fellow (R4) at the Catalan Institute of Classical Archaeology (ICAC) since 2008. With a degree in computer science and a PhD in Archaeology, he is an expert in information technologies applied to the humanities. He currently teaches on the Master's Degree in Classical Archaeology, the Bachelor's Degrees in History, Archaeology and Art History and the Master's Degree in Advanced Research in Humanistic Studies, teaching subjects related to the Digital Humanities.

In 2009 and 2013 he carried out postdoctoral research stays with AGAUR grants at the School of Humanities of the University of Southampton and the University of La Sapienza (Rome) to complete his training in ICT applied to archaeology.  Since 2009 he has participated in several (17) international, national and Autonomous Community projects, in competitive calls, which has resulted in a scientific production in indexed scientific articles, edition of books (2) and book chapters in a total of 54 publications.

- Application of GIS in the management of the archaeological heritage in urban environments (= smart SIAU), Sistems of Archaeological Information in urban environments.

- Landscape Archaeology, Remote Sensing and GIS.

- Models for the simulation of communication networks of roads in ancient times.
